[Review] TonyMoly BCDation Water Pact (SPF50+ PA+++) #02 Beige

Celebratory Danbo cuteness~

Whoohoo! Welcome to Berry Terrarium's first post! This blog is my small way of giving back to the beauty community~

This pact hasn't had many english reviews (as far as my google-fu shows me) so hopefully this post can introduce you to a new product! I've liked Tony Moly's BCDation line before because the colour of their BB was more warm-toned and fitting to me, unlike the super-grey cast other BB creams - I'm looking at you Skin70 VIP Gold... (ﺧ益ﺨ)

Tony Moly's BDCation products are known for being part BB cream, part CC cream and part foundation. The latest product from this line is the BCDation Water Pact, and true to the name, this pact is designed to provide  moisture to people with dry skin, as well as provide calming care to the skin by its cooling formula. It also has pretty decent sun protection, touting a SPF50+ PA+++ rating, which means it does have the ability to protect you from the sun, although it is always better to use a separate sunscreen underneath your makeup to make sure you have enough protection.

As the description from Jolse provides that the BCDation Water Pact has 8 benefits:

1. Moist glossy skin that does not dry for 24 hours!
2. Intense UV Rays Block + Anti-Wrinkle Care + Whitening + Waterproof
3. Cooling Effect
4. Contains 100% mineral sparkling water instead of normal purified water.
5. Elastic Puff instantly delivers moisturizing component.
6. Real moist essence accomplishes moist and glossy skin.
7. 8 in 1 - Mist + Sunblock + BB + CC + Foundation + Cooling + Soothing + Whitening
8. Water Coating Puff - Hygienic

I could not find a full ingredient list, but I did find a list of major ingredients from KoreaDepart:

Carbonated water, Houttuynia cordata extract, lavender flower extract, chestnut bark extract, peppermint leaf extract, apple mint leaf extract, spearmint leaf extract, adenosine

The TonyMoly BCDation Water Pact comes in a nice cream coloured box with the pact and an extra refill packed nicely. (Sorry, I threw it away before I could take a picture of it...  >w<"")

This compact is made in a sturdy plastic case, with a spring button opening mechanism. The top has this nice semi-shimmery, glossy pattern that makes the compact look much more premium than the ~$20USD price suggests. The glossy top finish makes it somewhat prone to scratches, but most pacts are like this anyways. (ΘεΘ;)

I've brought this pact in the shade 02 Natural Beige, which has a warm undertone. When brand new, the products like a solid balm. The untouched surface made me feel so bad to use it the first time!

After 3 months of moderate use, you see there are small bubbles in the semi solid balm. There's still quite a bit of product left in it, and this is still the initial bb cake!

The contents of the refill package - another container of product and an extra applicator. I say applicator because it is not the normal rubycell cushion from other bb cushions.

blurry pic thanks to my roomate's cat jumping on my table... Σ(◯△◯Σ)

The applicator is a puff with foam in the centre but with a thin, soft rubbery top layer that the product will sit on when using the pact. The gif shows this layer and the texture better than I can describe:

The BCDation Water Pact has sheer to medium coverage, with a nice dose of dewiness. When I say dewiness, I mean not the super glow kind a la 3CE style, but more of a subtle glow that makes your cheekbones pop. The texture of the product is light and comfortable for the skin, it has a slight cooling effect when initially applied, and it will not highlight any pimples or uneven skin

The downside to this is that there is not much coverage and the fact that it is slightly sticky when you put it on your face, as in some sheer hairs on your face might stick on your makeup. >n< This can be mitigated by putting on concealer on problem spots and/or putting on the lightest dusting of powder.

This has the most natural, skin-like look out of all my bb creams, a sweep of this stuff across your face enhances skin texture and evens out some skin tone. It doesn't make dry spots more visible but it will still settle into very fine lines, like the one around the eyes. This is a common compliant I have with pact type foundation/bb's but the fine lines can be avoided with the application of powder or just put concealer on the area if cover is needed. This pact is perfect for people who want a quick sheer foundation and for people with dry skin.

I put a gudetama sticker on my compact~ (๑´ㅂ`๑)♡ So cute!

My sprit animal.

Overall: ✭✭✭✩✩
This Water Pact is certainly interesting, but it doesn't go above and beyond to help my skin. At the end, the lack of coverage and cake type makes it harder to keep my base makeup on my face.

Price:  ✭✭✭✭✩
At ~$20USD, a compact with an extra refill is a pretty good deal, especially because the compact itself is so pretty~

Application: ✭✭✭✩✩
The puff applicator is handy, but washing is it is kinda hard and also due to the more dense surface of the puff I find I need to use more pressure on my skin to spread the product as opposed to using a beauty blender or rubycell (bb) puff.

Rebuy? No, there is enough product in there to last me half a lifetime and I'd like to buy other types of compacts and bb cushions.

Where to buy:
I brought my Water Pact from Jolse for approx $20 USD.

Should I review another makeup product or do a skincare product next? Let me know in the comments!
